At SuperGenius we had the privilege of helping out Boneloaf with their vision of an expanded Gangbeasts environment, an open world urban concept: Beef City. Beef City houses all of Gangbeasts' playable levels, connected through an immersive environment and navigable system of roads, overpasses, a tunnel for the "trucks" level, docks, lighthouse, and tram system.
On this project I had the privilege to art direct a team of four rotating artists on various components of the environment, including street props, placement and set dressing, color schemes and shape language for bespoke buildings and structures, as well as the production of our city blocks using a collection of prefabricated materials, walls, roof styles, windows, and doors. All buildings have been optimized for the Nintendo Switch platform, and LOD to very simple geometry at far distances to ensure performance remains stable in levels where the whole city is visible, such as Trawler and Towers.
I did also jump in when necessary to create props and structures for the environment, including but not limited to the lifeguard towers, decals and additional building textures, and entire city blocks.
